Enamored by wearable art with African cultural influences, I created Duafe Designs in 2004. Duafe Designs is the parent to a host of my hand-made fashions and subsidiaries culminating from my colorful Pan-African experience growing up in East Palo Alto (aka Nairobi, CA). Duafe Fashion accessories include earrings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, beaded sandals, head wraps, hair art, and waist beads. “Waist Beads by Ayodele” is my primary line of adornments that celebrate Womanhood, Sisterhood, African Culture, Self-Love, Self-Pride, and Self-Confidence. Waist Beads are aligned with a woman’s rite of passage, and are worn by all sizes from birth to transition. I create designs that honor the journey and sacrifices of the woman, and seek to inspire girls and women to feel like the Princess and Queen they are. It has been a true honor to adorn women in the tradition of our African culture and further support their beautification, healing, renewal, and celebration of life
